Well tomorrow is New Years Eve! What does everybody have planned? I saw in town today they were selling fire works, so I am expecting to see a lot of that. My plans are to go to bed, I don't mean to sound like the new year does not matter. However, I have small children and still have to get up early to make breakfast and be ready for them to wake up. My animals still have to be fed, so really to me a ball dropping does not matter that much to me.

I love Christmas and my birthday, those are the days that I am like a small child. Speaking of b-days I just turned 25 on December 28th. We went to  Rib and Chop in Miles City, Mt. it is about an hour away from us. First I went shopping with my mother in law and my two darling little girls, then we met my husband and his father at the Restaurant. Oh my goodness I love the Rib and chop!

For the appetizer we had Fried green tomatoes, oh my gosh, they are so delicious they could be a whole meal by themselves. We also had Calamari, mm I love it my husband hates it, but apparently my kids got my good genes because, they love it too. For our main course I ordered the Lamb chops mmmmmhhmmm they were spectacular. To me they taste like a buttery pork chop with the consistency of a steak. they came with mashed potatoes I also had a salad and french fries. Please keep in mind I did not eat all of the food it was shared between four people. All that food was so good and I was so stuffed I did not have room to get my b-day desert.

I love the new year coming in too, just the thought of everything essentially starting new. I like to see all the new babies animals, all the new spring flowers, and fresh green grass. It somehow makes me feel like the new year is magical, like everything is going to get better after the first of the year. Everything starts over but it really doesn't, it is still the same. The feeling you get though that everything is essentially going to start over is nice.

What are everybody's new year resolutions? Mine, well to start writing on here more, letting my kids help me more  in the kitchen, eating better (but who's isn't right?), and to managing my money better. I would also like to start putting stuff on here like recipes and sewing or crochet patterns. I would also like to reach more people and get more followers.

Well, I am going to go snuggle my hubby on the couch and watch transformers until my kiddos go to bed, then I am going to grab a cup of hot black tea and write some more on my third book. It is a love story, I will have to release a few pages on here when I get some more written I am only on my 6th page but everybody I have let read it ( an author Tera Lea Ferguson who also has a published book and my friend Debbie), They think it is great and can not wait to read more so I hope I get that reaction from more people. I hope that everybody has a safe and Happy New Years Eve!

Merry Christmas everyone!   What a crazy Christmas  it has been. In addition to my "A new day" book I will also be having another book come out next year titled "The lucky clover". It will be available for pre-order in a couple of weeks, so keep a look out for an update with a link to the site.

It is so relaxing to sit in  front of a fire on a snowy cold day and just write. Right now we are doing just that. I am snuggled into my husband on the couch, writing my blog on my new kindle, and toasting my feet by the pellet stove. My children are sitting with grandma on other end of the couch reading a bird book. Every now and then I hear what's this one's name? Then a random name like Ralph will  be called out. It is very entertaining yet very relaxing. It is not very often, I get to  sit and relax without two girls running around  the house, screaming. Jacey, My little blond bombshell is usually running around with the dogs, barking at everything. Then you got Rose my sweet little tornado, is usually running around tearing apart anything she can get a hold of. Well we are  going to open some more presents, and then eat again. I can already taste the smoked Turkey, the sweetness of this sweet potato bake, and the sour yet yummy taste of company potatoes.  I will leave you all with the Errol running out of your mouths. Now I hope everybody is having a merry Christmas and you get to eat, as good of food as I get. If not I'm sorry you are really missing out!

So Hard to Keep Up!

Well to update everyone I want to say that our cows are doing great! I have one that loves me and will stand there and lick my hands but, as soon as Ricky gets in with her she is swinging her head and blowing snot out of her nose. I love it and I love her but, of course she is going to be the one we are going to eat next year. Can't have one that butts all the other animals and jumps the fences, as much as I like her he sure is going to taste yummy! My alpaca that was sick well, he died we still do not know why. Every other Alpaca is acting normal and eating good. I just love it when they run up to the fence because they think I have food and are all up in my face. We finally went and got our cows branded and boy was that fun! I let Rick do the branding, I figure he can learn to do that and I can do the vaccinations and all the other fun stuff. My book is still in the process of getting published. I also met a wonderful Lady her Name is Tera Lea Ferguson, you all should check out her book that she has written. You can find it on amazon it is titled "A Channel Deeply Cut"
it is a great book and you will love it. I will paste the link: A Channel Deeply Cut

I finally also got a new website it is www.wildwomanfarm.org there is a link to my etsy website on there also.

Hey everyone!

Crazy year it has been, we added 4 cows to our farm this year and 2 more alpacas last month. One of my alpacas is not doing so good (will not get up or move, eat or drink, and has labored breathing.) I have given him some probiotics and wormer and also some bounce back.I go out every half hour and five him water and try to get him to eat. So far he is getting a little more alert but not much. I am going to go out here in a few and give him some penicillin and see what happens next. I have not taken him to the vet because there is not one around here that has dealt with them before.

I bred my cows to my neighbors bull he is a Corriente/Angus so he is a small bull. They should have calves next June. I put my Ram in with my ewes so they should be bred. today they are going to get vaccines and wormed, and feet trimmed. I am moving my Buck in with my female goats today also. they are getting the works too. Pigs will be bred in November so well will have spring piglets.

I am getting one of my books published, it is a children's book  about a girl that finds happiness after a tragedy. It should be ready to purchase next year, I will update everyone on that when it gets closer.
I am sorry if my post is unorganized today I just wanted to sit down and update it before I had to run back out side. Have a great day everyone!

a new day

Hey everybody sorry I haven't posted in awhile. It has been crazy, my grandpa died at he beginning of the month and then Ricky's grandpa died just the other day. I have been getting my garden ready to plant and I just can't wait.  built another pen for my boars so my sows don't get pregnant right away. My goat had her two babies that was exciting but of course it was when I had to be out of town.

Now my little brother is coming to stay with me for a week for spring break. I also finished my first short story that hopefully I can get published it is off being edited right now and I think it turned out really well. It is titled 'A New Day' , It is abought a couple kids whos mom died and they had nobody to care for them so they got put in foster care. Laura is an agry teen and her younger bro is happy to have sombody there. At the end of the story there is a big change in Laura, and she sees what her foster dad has been trying to show her for 10 months. That even though you have had a tragedy and everything seems terrible, there is still beauty in the world. You can be happy. I hope that I can get it published so that everybody can read it.

Just learned that my ponies are due anyday too, I was thinking the end of the month but I was just told they were bred the 7th and 11th of May so we should have one baby at least this week. Oh my I hope everything works out and slows down. I finaly started shearing my sheep it is no easy task when you are the only one doing it. I use the milking stand until I have to do the neck then I have to hold them the traditional way and I have to say the sure flail around alot when they have never been shorn before. Next is to get some carders so I can start making yarn. I decided not to dye the yarn this year because its my first year doing it and I don't want to over whelm myself.

We have been doing our Foster care classes and man are they long and informative. I am so excited that we are almost done though. we have had our paperwork in three times now and it seems like every time we get close something happens, like today I have a class but can not go becasue nobody would babysit for me. now I have to wait for the next class in a couple months, and hopefully I can get someone then. Then we have Adoption classes in May and a Homestudy to do then we will be placed with a child for 6 months and then we can adopt that child.

well so much stuff to do and so little time so I will write again soon.

chicken update!

She is doing great so far. Jacey has named her Justa as in Justa chicken lol! her wound is looking nicer everyday. She is enjoying being in the house and her daily meals include eggs, milk, soft crackers, water, apples, sometimes cereal lol, and softened chicken feed. I am suprised but happy that she has made it this far and I think she will make it, she just will not have feathers on that side. She looks really healthy with her shiny feathers and alert eyes, other than her wound she has no other sign of illness at all.

chicken surgery

Sorry I haven't posted in forever! Its has been so crazy here. I am starting to watch a friends 2 little girls, an dwe have been sick. Well last night my dog Bobo, decided he was going to get in my chicken fence and kill him some chikens! He got one and ripped her wing of and ripped her crop open. My daughter found her and came in crying tellig me Bo killed another chicken.  Well I went out to put her in the garbage and she was still alive so I brought her in the house, got her cleaned up, and stiched her crop back together. it was really bad I left the other part open and I am going to stitch it up today but I wanted to watch her crop. She is doing really well this morning she is up and walking. Her balance is off but other than that she is doing amazing!

finishing up today

Well Jacey seems to be better than she was this morning. She still doesn't want to eat very much though. Rose had a tooth poke through so 3 more to go. we ran all over town looking for buttons today and, finally found some at the thrift store so I got a margerine tub full for a dollar. Also got some cute fabric scraps and made Jc a bracelette out of them very cute if I might say so myself. I just can't stop making stuff now that I have a sewing machine that actually works and I don't have to stop and fix every 10 seconds! So hopefully I can get the camera and post a pict soon.

I finally broke down and bought a bark collar for my dog, everything else I have tried has failed miserably and so the new adventure starts tomorrow. I do think that I am going to call and make an appointment to get my goat ultrasounded because I checked her today and she is not even bagging up so I think she got prego later than I thought! Now that the snow is melting my chickens are starting to make appearances again and,  I don't know how she did it but my pony even found a way in with them again and could find her way back out, silly girl. Well it is very late an dI am very tired so I will write again tomorrow!

sickness! Bleh

oh great! Rosie is getting 4 molars at the same time so she is not feeling good. Jacey cann't go to school today because she is puking like crazy.  I don't want to get sick! I am going to make a fabric bracelete outta scraps today. It should turn out pretty cute. I forgot to grab the camera from my mother-in-law yesterday to darn it, but I did get some good swim time in.  I can not wait until Friday so I can get some new fabric in Miles City, and buttons. who doesn't love buttons right! This is my make-up post for yesterday, so hopefully I can do more tonight and a more interesting one right!

Today is warm outside so nice to feed animals, still no baby goat though. Another Plus my chickens were wild when I bought them and now today they were lettting me touch them and handle them it was so exciting! Then you have Georgette she flies into my hands to get the food I have in the bowl. LOL what a crazy chicken so friendly. the dogs are liking the nice warm weather they don't want to come in the house now again, just wait till it snows though!

I made sugar cookies today to take to Jacey's school and the dough tasted so good but after they were baked they tasted like Yuck! So I ran to the store and bought some to take instead. Also I am making the cutest chicken for my neice Eleasah for her b-day. OH My I can not wait to get my camera running so I can post a picture I just want to keep it for myself. Jacey keeps asking if she can have it. LOL.  Jacey is at school now and Rose is in the process of falling asleep so I hope that I can get some project time in. I need to get MJFarm stuff done! I got my mail art done now I just need to send it out, then I need to get to work on my v-day cards. Wells heres to hoping! Wish me luck today!

awwww

Today was kinda a lazy day, we didn't go to church because me and the girls woke up not feeling great. Ricky also left today to go back to work, these days are depressing. Jacey gets really upset and will not even say goodbye to him. I gathered new patterns for presents so hopefully I can give everybody a homemade gift this year. Jacey really liked the pillow I made mom so she asked if i would make her one! Ricky also asked me to make him one and a quilt so those are going to be his christmas gifts this year.  He even said I could put I love my Wife on it! LOL. Jessica (goat) still has not had her baby yet and I think if she does not have the baby by friday I will take her in to get ultrasounded.  Thats about all today hopefully I will have new crafts to post soon!

pillow for mom

It is finally finished!!!!!!

pictures from today!

Hello

Hello everybody, today we have about 2 feet of snow that we are getting plowed out of the driveway. My husband tried to plow it yesterday but after a couple times of moving the snow the fourwheeler quit working. I have to say I get quite the work out tromping through the snow to feed all the animals but I still love it. I love walking out and seeing my pigs running around, I have to say I have very happy pigs! everytime I go out there they are running and jumping around. My dogs have become house dogs though it has been way to cold for them to be outside. My blue heeler never wants to come in the house but since the snow he won't go outside! My sheep and goats don't want to leave their shed either, and I am worried my goat is going to have her baby when its below zero. My horses are loving the snow too because they get alfalfa. My chickens are not loving the snow poor babies won't even come out of the coop! I went to feed them and found them huddled with my kitties. Hopefully we can get some sort of heat and electricity out there for next year.

A little bit about my animals:

My sheep are 5 shetlands and 4 shetland/icelandic 8 ewes and 1 whether. I am purchasing a ram this summer. My female goat is Jessica and she is nubian, my male is Magnum and he is nubian and sanaan. My chickens are a mixed lot of everything. My dogs are Bobo he is husky/lab/schnauzer, and then Wyatt he is my blue heeler. I have 2 Maine coon cats, very great mousers. my horses are 2 quarter horses (May and June) and 2 minature horses ( Cotton and Candy). The minatures are due to foal in May. My pigs are 1 duroc female (Daisy), and 4 Hampshires (Charlotte, Wilbur, Papa, and Bacon). Bacon will be made into bacon when big enough.
